Has 802.11r been enabled on any SZ-144 firmware? 802.11r is not an option on 6.1.2.0.487. If not what would the command to confirm 802.11r is actually disabled when running 6.1.2.0.487, either on the SZ or R550 and R560.

Hi BCHIN001

802.11r is a roaming enhancement standard allowing faster handoffs between APs by reducing the time-consuming full 802.1X authentication.

It enables reuse of PMK (Pairwise Master Key) between APs, allowing pre-authentication and key caching.

Most beneficial in 802.1X WPA2-Enterprise networks (though it can work with WPA2-PSK as well).

Requires client device support (not all clients support 802.11r or behave well with it).

Yes, 802.11r (Fast BSS Transition) is available in SmartZone (SZ) firmware 6.1.2.0.487 under WLAN configuration, though it's exposed only in certain contexts (e.g. depending on encryption/auth type and WLAN type like WPA2-Enterprise or WPA2-PSK).

You could toggle it OFF to disable the 802.11r

Sunil Acharya
