main supply voltage low, cannot power APs

New Contributor

I'm currently running into a problem with the ICX7150 network switch. Currently there is no power flowing through the APs. A temporary solution involves resetting / power cycling the switch and enabling inline power again. However, the main supply voltage low error keeps showing up after a few hours. What does this mean and how can I prevent this from happening? The router is booting and I am able to get wifi for a few hours before it shuts down.

Hi @andrew

Thank you for contacting Lennar Home Community.

Hope you are doing well!!!

Thank you for the information you shared.

As per the case description, I could understand that your RUCKUS setup is not working, and the inline power is getting off after a low voltage supply.

To assist you further, could you please enter the below commands once you log in to CLI and share the output?

Note: Hit Enter to accept each command

show version

show flash

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience.

Hi @andrew

Thank you for the response and the information you shared.

As I can see from the Screenshot you shared, your Switch is currently on an old version and that is 8060 as marked in the below screenshot (non-UFI). To avoid this issue I would recommend you Upgrade your Switch to the latest stable UFI version.

The recommended stable versions are 8095g (08.0.95g) or 8095j (08.0.95j)

The Upgrade path would be 8060>>8080f>>8095g OR 8095j

Below are the options or methods to perform the Upgrade on the switch: You could choose any one of these.

1st Option:

1. In this option, we will use a pen drive or USB flash drive in which we move the files to the pen drive and connect it to the Switch then through CLI we execute the commands to upgrade the Switch using the following guide as a reference:

How to Upgrade a Switch ICX-7150-C12P using a USB flash drive

2nd Option:

2. The following guide is an example of an upgrade via TFTP server, by using an application (FREE) to send files or upload remote files to a device, in our case, we will use it to update a new version to the Switch, basically it will send the image version remotely from the computer to the switch.

How to upgrade a Switch ICX7150-C12P via TFTP

3rd Option:

3. In this option we Upgrade the Switch from the Web Interface (GUI) of switch.

Try to access your switch from a web browser by pasting the below URL in http or https form whichever that works. or (IP address of Switch. is just as an example)

As you can access CLI, I would suggest you follow the 2nd option.

Please let me know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
