Unleashed: ISP Router + VPN Router with different SSID on one R510 Access Point

Hi

I've got a setup at home with my ISP router linked to a r510 access point via ethernet. I'd like to add a second ethernet connection from a GL.Inet VPN router to the 2nd port of the access point and have that broadcast on a separate SSID. Is this at all possible on the latest r510 unleashed firmware?

Hi @arwa ,

Greetings!!!

Thank you for contacting RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

I hope you are doing well!!!

Thank you for the information you shared.

As per the case description, I understand that you are looking to connect the VPN router to the second port of the Access point and add a second Ethernet connection.

You may connect the VPN router to the second port on the Access point, but it is limited to a maximum speed of 100 Mbps. We recommend connecting the VPN router directly to the switch or ISP router using an Ethernet cable for better performance and less traffic.

Please let us know if you have any queries in this regard.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Your response was perfect, thank you. I'll have to get a switch to configure both my isp router and vpn router to broadcast separate ssid's on the r510 access point.

I was hoping it could be done without a switch but your response has clarified that.

Many thanks again
