Re: Need help in setting up Ruckus switch and Ruckus AP to connect to my xfinity wifi network

Hi Imran,

I followed the steps to reset entire unleashed network using the SSH option as detailed in method#3 given in this link:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Self-Help/How-to-reset-entire-Unleashed-network-for-r...

and it worked. After doing factor reset of the master AP, now I am able to configure my master AP to connect my wireless network and the member AP also join the master AP as mentioned in above link.

The only issue i now have is i am unable to login into the unleashed mobile app on my phone using the same admin user name and password that i had set up on unleashed.ruckuswireless.com login page.

Any pointers for logging into the unleashed mobile app will be helpful.

Thanks,

Pravin.

Hi Imran,

My apologies for the delay from my end to try out the firmware upgrade option earlier this week. So I followed your instructions mentioned above and did the firmware upgrade using the Online upgrade option and thereafter i removed the Ruckus unleashed app on my smartphone and reinstalled the updated version of the app. Even after the firmware upgrade, I didn't have to reconfigure neither of both my AP's nor set up a new SSID, as it was able to retain my wireless configuration done earlier, so was able to connect back to my same SSID that I had set up earlier.

Thereafter, I was able to login into the app successfully and I can view my wireless network info in the Ruckus unleashed app with all the network details, AP details etc.

Thanks so much for resolving this issue.

Thanks,

Pravin.

Hi Imran,

I went through your Knowldgebase link : https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/Upgrade-process-of-the-RUCKU... for upgrading firmware of my access points, but neither of those 2 options i.e. Online upgrade nor Local upgrade work for me.

Here is the screen i see when i login to my Master AP from web browser:

For Online upgrade ( default selected option ) :

For Local Upgrade option, when I hover over this radio button option, I see a red circle with a red diagonal line in it, indicating that this radio button is also disabled ( i.e. not available for selection )

Please help on the next steps.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,

Pravin.

Hi @pravinsv

Thank you for your response and the detailed update.

Please try performing the same process using the Mozilla FireFox web browser and let me know if that resolves the issue.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Hi Imran,

Yes i see both the upgrade options available when viewing my Master AP through Mozilla Firefox browser as seen below:

One question I had is that while I am working from home today, will this firmware upgrade, force to me again follow the AP process for resetting both my AP's or this firmware upgrade would still retain my AP configurations for both my Master AP and Member AP?

Please let me know, accordingly will decide to do this so as to have minimum impact on my work.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,

Pravin.
