We own a Lennar home with a Ruckus box installed. We also have AT&T Fiber Internet. For the last 4 years we've refrained from using the Ruckus internet and opted to using the AT&T Router specifically due to connection issues. We run ethernet into a computer and have no problem connecting to internet on the Ruckus. However, when we attempt to connect to online game servers, and call servers, such as discord, we fail almost every time to connect. I just now got into the Unleashed Dashboard which shoes both AP's connected in the house, however it only shows we have wireless connections status and none wired connection when the ethernet that runs into the pc is directly connect to the ruckus box. We've gotten this far and need help!

Check the configuration settings in the Unleashed Dashboard to ensure that wired connections are properly recognized. When it's done, give anwhatsapk a try.

Hi @ThomasW
Greetings!!!
Thank you for contacting RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.
I hope you are doing well!!!
Thank you for the information you shared.
As per the case description, I understand that you have some issues with the ethernet connectivity via the RUCKUS setup.
Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same, showing the light status and the FULL Switch panel cable connections to the Switch ports.
Please help us with pictures of your ICX-7150-C12P Switch showing the status of the lights and cable connections to the Switch ports.
Before uploading the photos please log in to the RUCKUS account and you can upload the image.
Please let me the answer to the above query and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.
Thank you again for your patience.
Best regards,
Imran Sanadi

It sounds like you're trying to troubleshoot your Ruckus system with AT&T Fiber to improve your connectivity for gaming and calls, but you’re encountering issues. Here's a step-by-step guide to help:
1. Check Ruckus Unleashed Dashboard Settings
You mentioned accessing the Unleashed Dashboard. Confirm that the wired ethernet ports are enabled and properly configured for use.
In the dashboard, go to the System tab and ensure the Ethernet port settings show an active connection for the PC. If not, the port may be disabled or incorrectly configured.
2. Network Mode and IP Addressing
Check if your Ruckus APs are in Bridge Mode or Router Mode.
Bridge Mode allows the Ruckus system to pass traffic through to the AT&T router, where the AT&T router manages DHCP (IP addresses).
Router Mode means the Ruckus APs are assigning their own IP addresses, which may be causing conflicts.
If both the AT&T router and Ruckus are managing IP addresses, this could lead to network confusion, resulting in dropped connections or inability to connect to gaming servers. It’s usually best to have one device handle DHCP (IP addressing).
3. Port Forwarding for Gaming/Call Services
For gaming servers and services like Discord, you may need to enable port forwarding or open specific ports on the Ruckus or AT&T router. Check for these game-specific or Discord port ranges and configure the router to forward them to your PC’s local IP address.
Common Discord Ports:
Voice: 50,000-65,535 (UDP)
Common Game Ports (varies by game):
For games like Fortnite, Minecraft, etc., check the game-specific documentation for the required ports.
4. Double NAT Issue
A Double NAT situation occurs when both your Ruckus system and the AT&T router are providing a layer of network translation, which is common in setups like this.
You can avoid this by setting one of the devices (preferably the Ruckus) in Bridge Mode so only the AT&T router handles NAT.
Another option is to enable DMZ mode on the AT&T router for the Ruckus device, ensuring all traffic passes through without being processed by the AT&T router.
5. Firmware Update
Ensure both the Ruckus APs and the AT&T router have the latest firmware installed. Outdated firmware can cause various connectivity issues.
6. Test Connection Directly
If you haven’t already, test by connecting your PC directly to the AT&T router (bypassing the Ruckus) to ensure there’s no hardware issue with the ethernet cable or AT&T router.
7. DNS and Static IP Settings
Ensure that the DNS settings on your Ruckus and AT&T router are configured properly. You can manually set DNS servers (like Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1) for faster and more reliable name resolution.
You might also try assigning a static IP to your PC within the Ruckus dashboard, as this may help with connection consistency to gaming and call servers.
8. Factory Reset as a Last Resort
If everything else fails, performing a factory reset on the Ruckus system might resolve any misconfigurations. You will need to set everything up again but with a clean slate.
