My networks have disappeared even though my modem is working

Steven
New Contributor

I have a Ruckus ICX 7150-C12P in my Lennar home. Last night all of a sudden all of the devices in the home were disconnected from the internet. I contacted my ISP and did a couple resets with the modem to no avail. I was able to connect my laptop to the Ruckus swich and got PuTTy to be able to access the switch, since my app was no longer able to get me into the switch. I have tried looking for backups but the config data came back empty in primary and backup. I looked for some help information in the support for Lennar homes, but did not find a simliar issue where the networks completely disappeared.

Hi @Steven

Thank you for the response and the update.

This may not be a permanent solution. I also noticed that your Switch is currently running on an older Non-UFI firmware version. We recommend upgrading it to a recommended UFI version for improved stability and performance.

Please refer to the following RUCKUS Lennar Knowledge Base article for the upgrade process:

https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Lennar-Support-Knowledge/How-to-upgrade-RUCKUS-ICX-71...

If you have any questions during the upgrade, feel free to let me know and I’ll assist you.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Hi @Steven

Thank you for the response and the information.

Please note that there are no custom RUCKUS Switch configurations required for Lennar users.

Kindly unplug and re-plug the ethernet cables for the Access Points and the ISP modem into any of the available numbered 12 ports on the Switch, as mentioned in my previous response, and then check the network status.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Okay, I tried again. With all new ports. The networks have appeard again! One AP seems to work and the other doesn't. Is there any issue with some fo the ports then?

Hi @Steven

Thank you for the response and the update.

The switch ports appear to be functioning correctly based on the command outputs shared earlier.

However, please run the commands below to reset the PoE on all Access Point ports and then check the AP status again.

Switch> enable
(No password has been assigned yet...)
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/1 to 1/1/12
Switch(config-mif-1/1/1-1/1/12)# no inline power   (wait for the process to complete)
Switch(config-mif-1/1/1-1/1/12)# inline power      (wait for the process to complete)

Once complete, verify if the both the Access Points come online.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
