Issue Description:

Upgrade RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P to a stable Unified Forwarding Image (UFI) version for Lennar Home users to avoid any issues.

Environment:

  • Product(s): ICX-7150-C12P
  • Software / Firmware Version: 08.0.95g

Introduction:

Below is the process of the Firmware upgrade for the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch, for Lennar Home users when the Switch is on a legacy/Non-UFI Version.

Why does the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch for Lennar Home users need an upgrade from Legacy/Non-UFI to the UFI Version?

  • To avoid the Switch getting stuck on the boot mode frequently due to power outage/spike.
  • To avoid the Switch ports getting disabled automatically as seen in some non-UFI versions.
  • To get the enhancement on the Internet connectivity via Switch. Etc.,

Please follow the process explaining the Upgrade process:

The recommended stable version is 8095g (08.0.95g)

The Upgrade path would be: Non-UFI version before 08.0.80f version>>08.0.80f>>08.0.95g

(PLEASE NOTE: Use 08095g patch in place of 8095h as explained in the guides IGNORE 8095h)

FIGURE 3 Image patches required for the Upgrade of the Switch

The options or methods to perform the Upgrade on the switch: You could choose any ONE from these.

Option-1:

1. In this option, we will use a pen drive or USB flash drive in which we move the files to the pen drive and connect it to the Switch then through CLI we execute the commands to upgrade the Switch. Here is the guide on How to Upgrade a Switch ICX-7150-C12P using a USB flash drive

Option-2:

2. The following option is an example of an upgrade via TFTP server, by using an application (FREE) to send files or upload remote files to a device, in our case, we will use it to upgrade the Switch to a new version, basically it will send the image version remotely from the connected computer to the switch. Here is the guide on How to upgrade a Switch ICX7150-C12P via TFTP

Option-3:

3. In this option we Upgrade the Switch from the Web Interface (GUI) of switch. Here is the guide on How to Upgrade the Switch using Web Interface

Try to access your switch from a web browser by pasting the below URL in the http or https form whichever that works.

https://0.0.0.0 or http://0.0.0.0 (IP address of Switch. 0.0.0.0 is just as an example)

If you can access CLI, We suggest to follow the 2nd option.

Please post a query in RUCKUS Lennar Support if you need any assistance in this regard OR any other issues with the Lennar Home RUCKUS devices.

Thank you for visiting RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

@Imran_ruckus Is 08.0.95g still the recommended version? I see 08.0.95m is currently marked as the stable release at https://support.ruckuswireless.com/software/3749

Hi @ph07

Greetings!!!

Thank you for your query.

Yes, we can upgrade to the 08.0.95m version. However, we suggest 08.0.95g as a stable version for the Lennar ICX Switches. Since higher versions are mainly designed for Enterprise Customers with different features/configs which may not be useful for Lennar home users.

Please feel free to raise a post on the Lennar forum if you have any further queries.

Thank you again.

OR you could answer my question as I cannot access UNLEASHED through any device I have the app on, and have not since 200.14 was installed and the apple issue. I am tired of dealing with all the problems with this switch and want to replace it with a different one.
