Issue with Ruckus Switch and Extender

RaviShankar
New Contributor

I do not get internet through the Ruckus Switch. I restarted the device but of no help. The extenders also do not work as I keep noticing that they are on and off quite frequently. Looks like the Switch is not functional. Can you please get this issue resolved ASAP.

Thanks,

Ravi Yerra

Hi @RaviShankar

Thank you for the response and the update.

Could you please try connecting the Access Point using a different, known-working Ethernet cable and verify the status again? The ‘Link Down’ state observed in the ‘show interface brief’ command output may indicate a faulty or unstable Ethernet cable connection.

Please perform this check and let me know the results.

Thank you again. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

What about the Ruckus Switch. It is not working as i do not get internet when I connect to my Laptop using Ethernet Cable?. Tried all 12 ports to verify. Connected the faulty AP to working Ethernet cable and still no luck.

Hi @RaviShankar

Thank you for the response and the update.

Just to confirm, you are saying that, you currently unable to access the internet when connecting a laptop directly to the RUCKUS Switch using an Ethernet cable? Kindly verify and confirm so we can proceed with the next steps accordingly.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Yes Imran. This is the issue right from the start and was not resolved. I am not able to connect to internet through the Ruckus Switch to my Laptop through ethernet cable (all Ports). Tested multiple times after running the recommended commands. Also, one of the AP is not working as mentioned earlier (No Green Light).

Hi  @RaviShankar

Thank you for sharing the requested information.

Based on the troubleshooting performed, your ICX-7150-C12P Switch ports are not responding properly, and the troubleshooting steps unsuccessful as the Switch ports seems to be damaged. Verified after checking with different ethernet cables and with laptop ethernet connection. The issue still persists.

As a result, this Switch unit appears to be defective and needs to be replaced through the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process.
