ICX7150-C12P Steady amber lights. Cannot reset, cannot connect via Serial COM...HELP!

Evidently I had a power event the other day. My ICX 7150 C12P has all amber lights. Not flashing or blinking, Just steady on amber. I have tried hard reset with power cycle, and not any luck getting it to reset. Tried 15-20 times earlier as I saw it in another post. Tried to connect with a serial cable and PuTTY, but only get a blank screen with a curser. From what I have seen it looks like I should get a prompt of at least the model.

I am wondering if it is shot and need to get an RMA? I opened up a case file, but then was told that they don't support Lennar customers any longer over email or phone and have to go through the community support system first. Any suggestions?

Hi @christaylor1984

Greetings!!!

Thank you for reaching out to the RUCKUS Lennar Home Community.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issues you are experiencing with your RUCKUS setup.

Based on the information provided, it appears that your RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch is stuck in the boot loop.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and are committed to assisting you promptly.

Could you please share a Picture showing Software Recovery cable connections between the Switch and the Laptop?

Additionally, please make sure to follow the below steps.

1. Please make sure to download the zip drive for the file below & "extract all". Once it's extracted, run the file, the driver should be installed using the 2 links below.

Once installed restart your laptop and try to locate the COM port details under 'Ports (COM & LTP)' with cables connected between the Laptop and the Switch (Refer to the below screenshot), Please check and let me know if that works.

2. Kindly refer to the Software Recovery process carefully outlined in the link below.

I have downloaded the drivers and I am connected to the COM port. When I connect through PuTTY, I get this screen.

No response in the console. I restarted my computer prior to moving to the next steps.

The link for the TFTP server no longer works. I downloaded a different TFTP server to get started, but when I went back to PuTTY to start the process of loading I still get the blank page where I should get the below.

I went back and tried to reset again by holding the reset button while applying power and holding for at least 20-30 seconds for 20 tries. The lights on the front continue to be amber, and never flashed or changed.

Any suggestions?

Hi @christaylor1984

Greetings!

Thank you for your response and the update.

When the PuTTY screen for COM5 appears blank, please allow a few minutes to see if any output is displayed. If nothing appears, try power cycling the switch by turning it off and on from the power outlet, keeping the PuTTY COM5 session open during this process. Then, check again for any output.

Additionally, could you please share a photo showing the cable connections between the switch and your laptop?

Thank you once again for your patience and cooperation.

Best regards,
Imran Sanadi
