Hi All, My Ruckus switch ICX 7150 did not boot up post last power outage and no power to APs

Hi All,

My Ruckus switch ICX 7150 did not boot up post last power outage since last few months and now there is no power to the WAPs as well. We troubleshoot the issue and try to take console for the switch through USB TYPE C and RJ45 Cable with USB Type A connector but not able to access/take console.

I need assistance with the RMA for the switch and need immediate help . Kindly look into the issue.

Thank you for the information you shared.

As per the case description, I understand that your RUCKUS setup is not working after the power outage and Access Points do not have power.

Could you please let us know the answers to the below queries to assist you better?

  1. On your switch while it's plugged into the outlet, do you see any lights on? (Amber or green) Please let us know which lights are on. (Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same, showing the light status and the FULL Switch panel cable connections to the Switch ports)

 

      2. May I know how many Access Points are connected to the Switch? Could you please let me know the light     status on the  Access Points? Any of these lights are on (Please refer to the below picture and share a picture of the same)

Please help us with pictures of your ICX-7150-C12P Switch showing the status of the lights and cable connections to the Switch ports. Also, light the status of Access Points.

Thank you for looking into this and please find the below pictures for the switch.On switch green light in PWR and Amber in SYST. Please refer to the attached pictures for reference. Thank you for the information you shared.

From the pictures you shared, I understand that the status lights on the Switch is Amber and the PWR light is Green, which means that the Switch is stuck in a boot mode.

Please follow the below RUCKUS Lennar Knowledge base self-help article which will help you to fix the issue when the Switch is in boot mode.

Hi Pinky, 

 

Thank you for sharing the article and i have gone through this earlier as well and tried both the steps but no success. I tried resetting it multiple times as suggested and at last all lights starts flashing amber but no luck as green on pwr and syst. Secondly i tried using the USB to C type also and selected serial as COM3 and nothing comes on putty also as its a blank black screen. You can see that in my one of the picture which i shared in earlier response. Kindly refer to attached video. This switch is completely stuck in boot mode and not working or able to console it.Ruckus image with all amber lights .png
