Description:

This article walks you on adding the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch in the RUCKUS Access Points management Unleashed system. It’s designed for homeowners who has RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switches and RUCKUS Access Points.

Environment:

  • Product: RUCKUS Unleashed Access Points
  • Switch Model (if applicable): RUCKUS ICX Switches
  • Firmware Version: RUCKUS ICX Switches version 08.0.90 or later
  • Tools Needed: A computer/laptop.

Prerequisites:

1. The unleashed network must already be set up and accessible.

2. The Switch should be connected to the same local network (LAN) as the Unleashed Master AP.

3. Switch must have IP connectivity (i.e., pingable) from the APs.

4. The switch should be on a supported firmware version. (For ICX: e.g., UFI 08.0.90+ is a must for Unleashed integration).

5. Admin credentials for the switch (default: super / sp-admin) and Unleashed.

Steps to Add a Switch to RUCKUS Unleashed via Web Browser:

Make sure the Switch IP is reachable from the Unleashed AP. If unreachable, the connection will fail.

Step 5: Apply and Wait

  • Click “OK” or “Add” to begin the process with the ‘Connecting’ message. (Figure 5)
  • Unleashed will try to connect and register the switch.

Additional Tips:

  • If the switch shows as Disconnected, check:
    • IP connectivity between the switch and the Master AP.
    • Correct login credentials.
    • Switch firmware compatibility. (For ICX: e.g., UFI 08.0.90+ is a must for Unleashed integration)
    • No firewall blocking SSH (TCP port 22). (Refer to the article for instructions on how to disable the firewall on a Windows system)
