Purchased a gray market ICX 8200-C08ZP and it appears to be brand new in matching serial box. Device is flawless and works exactly as it should. But I noticed it is very loud with electronic noise / coil whine. The more traffic its processing the louder it is.
Was this a known issue and that is why these switches are being sold? I attempted to see if there was a way to pay for out-of-warranty service through support but I didn't get a lot of help.
Just trying to find out if this is a known issue, I only heard of this being a problem with the R770 APs, this switch being very new seems like I just received a lemon I hope. The ICX 7150-C12Ps that I am working to replace are dead silent.

Hi Knownguy
Thank you for reaching us
This is an 8200 fanless model, so it typically operates quietly. Based on the chassis output, the switch temperature appears to be within normal range.
If you're still noticing any unusual noise, it could potentially be due to a loose screw or a hardware-related issue.
Could you please check if there are any warnings or errors in the output of "show logging" ?
Thank you

I have also noticed that this switch takes nearly 6 minutes to boot where as the same switch takes less than 2 minutes to boot.
I have went through the recovery process and it still lags and times out during this step in the boot process:
Starting kernel ...
[ 4.630127] armada8k-pcie 800a0000.pcie: phy link never came up
[ 4.630138] armada8k-pcie 800a0000.pcie: Link not up after reconfiguration

[ 6.243428] xenon-sdhci 805c0000.sdhci: AP SDHC is running in slow mode

I even went as far as to do the golden image recovery followed by a complete reset and upgrade to the latest suggested version. Still noisy and very slow to boot.
This section of file system / partition checks seems to possibly point to bad NAND, the free inodes section again differs from another similar switch:
Please let me know if there is more that I can do to get this figured out.

I was able to perform a securewipe and that fixed up the issues with NAND, still a loud buzzing noise. I have two of the 8200-C08ZP models and they both buzz. The 8200-C08PF model is actually silent.
Sounds like I may have one of the earlier batches or something that have issues or, they just all do this and I am too sensitive to the sound.

Yeah hence my surprise when it was still noisy without a fan.
I did not hear any initial noise when moving the device around but I'm sure anything is possible and there could be a screw that is not entirely screwed down maybe. But I have never in my history heard this type of noise from a switch.
Logging shows nothing except SSH connection logs, no errors to speak of.
