The Support Document of Metro Ring Protocol Says..

"The member VLAN for a customer must contain the two ring interfaces and the interfaces for the customer. Since these interfaces are shared with the master VLAN, they must be tagged

if the Customer VLAN is 30

Can i use the the Below Commands ?

VLAN30

tag interface e 1/1/1 e 1/1/2 (Ring Interfaces)

untagged interface e 1/1/3 ( User PC)

Hi Chamilasw

Thank you for reaching us

You can use the below commands

  • device(config)#vlan 30
  • deviceconfig-vlan-30)#tagged ethernet 1/1/1 ethernet 1/1/2
  • deviceconfig-vlan-30)#untagged ethernet 1/1/3

Make sure the uplink or the tagged settings are same on both sides. The ports setting would need to match for the communication to happen between both the directly connected devices.

Thanks
