ICX6450-48p POE no longer working after power outage

Intropy
New Contributor II

I had a sudden power outage, and after rebooting the switch is not supplying power on any configured ports. It is also failing to send data on one port.

I reenabled POE on the ports. I've gathered some info, but nothing about it suggested something wrong to me. Admin state is On while Oper State is Off.

Hi Intropy

Ack and Noted. You are right 6450 is end of life. You can log a support case to validate warranty and check if you can get a RMA for the device. Troubleshooting support would not be available if no contract but try to validate switch hardware warranty.

Team will help you with the details and accordingly proceed.

Thanks

Hi Intropy

Thank you for for reaching us

Could you pull below details after you connect and PoE device on port 1/1/37 and 1/1/1

  • skip
  • show poe 1/1/37
  • show poe 1/1/36
  • show poe emesg | inc 1/1/37
  • show poe emesg | inc 1/1/36
  • show poe debug-info 1/1/37
  • show poe debug-info 1/1/36
  • show run interface ethernet 1/1/37
  • show run interface ethernet 1/1/36
  • show int br eth 1/1/37
  • show int br eth 1/1/36

Could you please let me know if you are from Lennar Homes ?

Thanks

Thank you for helping me. I really appreciate it.

A few of these commands return invalid input errors. "show version" says "SW: Version 08.0.30uT313" which might indicate if I have an unexpected software environment. I used the help feature which said that the command for showing poe information is "show inline power". That gives me:

SSH@brocade>show inline power 1/1/37

Port Admin Oper ---Power(mWatts)--- PD Type PD Class Pri Fault/
State State Consumed Allocated Error
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/1/37 On Off 0 0 n/a n/a 2 n/a

Port Admin Oper ---Power(mWatts)--- PD Type PD Class Pri Fault/
State State Consumed Allocated Error
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1/1/36 Off Off 0 0 n/a n/a 3 n/a

"show inline power emesg" is also unrecognized and I'm not sure what might be the equivalent command here.

SSH@brocade>show run interface ethernet 1/1/37
interface ethernet 1/1/37
inline power priority 2 power-limit 23000
!

SSH@brocade>show run interface ethernet 1/1/36

Hi Intropy

Thank you for for reaching us

Could you please help me with below output

  • show poe ?

and the latest output of "show logging"

In 1/1/36 I see that the port is up. Could you please let me know if a PoE or Non-PoE device is connected on the interface ?

Thanks

Port 1/1/36 has a non-poe device connected to it and 1/1/36 is not currently configured to enable poe. I have tried  connecting a non-poe device to each of the poe-enabled ports 1/1/37-1/1/48 and the non-poe device communicates over the port correctly. It's only poe devices that fail.
