ICX 7850 breakout port to 10G

Hi,

I have configured an interface on a ICX 7850 as a breakout port. However, when I attempt to statically set the subports speeds, I receive an error message that there is an optics/speed mismatch and that a 4x10 QFSP transceiver needs to be inserted.

I read the list for supported transceivers and cables and had my management purchase a transceiver listed. I have provided the output of the show media validation command as well as the error message. According to all the CommScope and Ruckus documentation, I should not have an issue changing the port speed.

From the Ruckus Optic Guide i found the cables available for breakout under 40G. One is for 1m, 3m, and 5m (E40G-QSFP-4SFP-CXXXX). And the other one is for 10m (E40G-QSFP-4SFP-AOCXXXX).

There are other breakout cable options that could work such as the following:

- E40G-QSFP-4SFP-AOC-1001

- E40G-QSFP-4SFP-C-0101

- E40G-QSFP-4SFP-C-0301

- E40G-QSFP-4SFP-C-0501

The difference between the above cables are the distance (10m, 1m, 3m, and 5m respectively).

Hi Deepu,

The breakout cable provided to me by my organization is the following: 3-meter (10-foot) MTP Female to 4 LC UPC Duplex 8 Fibers Type B Plenum (OFNP) OM4 50/125 Multimode Elite Breakout Cable. I am not sure if hyperlinks are allowed but the vendor and the part number are below.

Vendor: FS

Part Number: 8FMTPLCOM4

Is this cable type not compatible?
