7150-24P is powering port off due to "Internal Device supplying power to port x/x/x is hot"

Hi.

<Message>--------------------------------------------------

U1-MSG: PoE Severe Error: Internal Device supplying power to port 1/1/5 is hot. Distribute the load so that each of the 8 ports group (ports 1-8, 9-16 etc) have equal power consumption.

--------------------------------------------------

When connecting the POE terminal, the POE port keeps turning off with the above message.

This is my first time seeing this message.

Just one device was connected at this ICX.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Regards.

Hello!

Thanks for posting.

Usually this error is seen, If high power consuming PDs are connected in consecutive ports and the ambient temperature is high, the device gets heated up. In such scenarios, distribute the load so that each of the 8 ports group (ports 1-8, 9-16 etc) have equal power consumption. But in your case there are no PD's connected on these ports. Have you moved the switch to any different environment recently?
Is the environment temperature is high?
Is there proper air flow on the front and back panel of the switch?

Have you enabled the below command on these ports #no inline power?
Could you please once try disabling and enabling PoE on the impacted port?

Please share the output:

#show version

#show inline power det

#show chassis

We atteched the device(a wips sensor) on 7150-12p, -24p, -08p.

All is same.

Consumed watt by the device is not high.

In 7150-12P, out put is below.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, based on the Power disabled. internal fault I would think is a hardware failure, but seeing it across 3 different ICXs suggest this might be a bigger issue. I recommend opening a ticket with support for further investigation.
