I have 2 R510, how do I configure the two R510 as one Access Point with same SSID. And it will just load balance the the traffic. Thanks.

Hi Sirch,

Both the APs should be managed by a controller to broadcast the same SSID and also to do the load balancing.

Hi Anusha,

Do I need to enable the mesh setup settings for APs if it will be managed by the controller? Or there is no need?

Thanks.

Hi Sirch,

For just two APs I'd recommend you use the Ruckus Unleashed firmware.  With Unleashed one of the APs will act as a controller and give you advanced features such as Client load balancing accros the APs.

There is more information here: https://docs.ruckuswireless.com/unleashed/200.1.9.12/c-LoadBalancing.html

You do not need to enable SmartMesh unless one of the APs doesn't have a wired connection to the network.

Hope that helps,
Darrel.

Hi Darrel,

Thanks for your input, I will try it out.

From your link it leads to this one: https://docs.ruckuswireless.com/unleashed/200.1.9.12/t-EnablingLoadBalancingGlobally.html

I suppose this should be the FW settings that you were talking about.

Cheers!
