Heartbeat Loss on R510's

Primrose_home
New Contributor

Hello,

I am a different user but am having similar issues to others. Heartbeat loss on both APs at the exact same time, every 12 hrs. Then they come back online a minute or two later at the same time. The issue started occurring about a month ago.

Here is what I have done:

  • Set separate WLAN 5 Ghz and 2.4Ghz channels
  • Increased background scan times from 20s to 300s to 600s, no difference.
  • Set static IPs for the APs; did not make a difference so changed back to DHCP

Please let me know what else to look at.

Hi @Primrose_home

Since you have set the Static IP address, the APs should not be disconnecting due to DHCP lease.
I see that the APs are actually rebooting and the reason is "Application Reboot", meaning the the APs are rebooting due to Config changes which causes reboot.

One such config changes is Master AP reboot, which causes another AP to become Master which leads to reboot on all the Members.

Can you confirm if the Master AP is also rebooting every 12 hours?
You can download the AP support file from the Master and search for the "Last Reboot" to see the reason?
You can download from Access Points >> Select the Master >> Expand System Info >> Download the logs.

Hi @sanjay_kumar yes the master and slave both reboot every 12 hours. The AP labeled RuckusAP_Upstairs is set as the master. This is the latest fault.

Not sure if this is what you are asking for from the log file? I searched "Last Reboot" and that phrase does not exist in the file.

Hi @Primrose_home
Can you send me the complete AP support file of all the APs when it reboots next time?
I can have a look on this.
You can send a private message along with the files.

Hi @Primrose_home,

Unknown reboot reason usually indicates a power related issue with power failure or POE issues.

Please verify and make sure APs are getting uninterrupted power from the power source.

This is not indicating issue with software or hardware.
