Fixed MAC Address for SSID

Hi,

i have a ZD with some R500.
I have some wired Clients connected to a Wireless Bridge. Wireless Bridge is connected to one R500.
Everyhting works fine.

There is just one issue.
Within the GUI of my Wireless Bridge i have to set the SSID and the SSID's MAC Address.
If i restart my R500 the SSID sometimes get another MAC and my Bridge is not able to connect anymore.

Is there a way to fix the MAC my R500 is using for a specific SSID?

Thanks!

Kind Regards
Marco

Are you using a controller for the APs?  If so, there is a way to set what is called an HESSID which would be the same MAC on all the APs for the BSSID (which is the SSID's MAC).

First let me know if you are using a controller before we dive into this.

Yes. I am using a ZoneDirector 1200.
Thanks.

In that case, using an HESSID, if the code is up to date should help you as it would make the BSSID the same MAC for all APs broadcasting that SSID in your network.  The HESSID needs to be the MAC of one of the BSSIDs in your existing network.  So, it has to be a real MAC from your equipment.

Try that and let us know if you have issues afterwards.

Do you have any Documentation where i am able to set or configure HESSID? Where i am able to set this?
Is this not a Problem if every AP using the same BSSID? Roaming issues?
Thanks.
