Hello everyone!
AP model: Ruckus 550
I work on IT for a logistics company. We encountered a big issue with AP roaming. Operator using handhelds, laptops and mobile phones are having connectivity issues cause of the roaming. This one is not working properly. By tracking the IP of those devices and the MAC address of the AP, we realized devices are not moving from AP to AP. We tried several configs on those devices, especially on WIFI adapter, changing from 2.4g to 5g, roaming aggressiveness etc. but these devices were still connected to the first AP where they get the connection from, even when we move around 50 or 70 meter distance.
The Warehouse is 30 meters. width and 100 meters length. In that area there are 4 AP with a 20 meters distance between one and another.
Furthermore, I would like to know how many clientes maximum should be connected per AP.
Any comment or help we will be well received.

Hi @ITlogistic,
Roaming is always a client-specific decision however, we can tweak a few settings on the WLAN and AP transmit power to avoid the sticky client issue as mentioned in the below KB article.

The R550 AP has capacity to handle up to 512 client connections.

Try increasing the min-BSS settings in the SSID. Start at 12, if clients are still sticking, increase it to 24. This helped our warehouse staff tremendously with clients that refused to roam on their own (Android barcode scanners, iphones, etc).
