I'm setting up a Guest WLAN and want to use a self-service portal, as a notification method I'd love for it to automatically enter the code (which is what the 'Device Screen' option does) and also send them the code that it generated to the email address they entered, this way they can then use an additional device such as mobile phone using the same code, rather than needing to generate a new one. Is this currently possible? If I select just Email then it only emails the code but doesn't show or enter the code until they can access email which is flawed. It's like we need an option for Device Screen & Email...
Any help/advise please?

I think you should use API to achieve it. But you should build the self-service portal yourself or integrate with your some exist portals.

You can only use one of the available options. Combination of Email+Device Screen or Mobile+Device Screen is not supported.
Use captive portal authentication and you can setup your portal as per your requirements.
