Cisco Trunking with ZD3100/ZF7363

I am having some trouble with VLANs across 2 SSIDs. I have a corporate SSID, on VLAN 25. I need a guest SSID on VLAN 6. My Cisco 4510 port configs are:

interface GigabitEthernet8/47
description Wi-fi Test Port
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 25
switchport mode trunk
end

interface GigabitEthernet8/48
description ZoneDirector
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 25
switchport mode trunk
end

I'm getting traffic in VLAN 25, and on the correct SSID just fine. However, I cannot seem to get any traffic (even DHCP) across VLAN 6. The A.P. shows up in the ZD3100 just fine as well. The only odd thing is that the tag for access on the ZD and on the A.P. for the VLAN 25 subnet is showing as VLAN 1.

Thoughts?

Hi Bryan,

I believe Cisco switches by default allow all VLANs on a Trunk port so you don't have to explicitly allow/tag the allowed VLANs on the Trunk Port? I mean VLAN 6 btw for which the clients are not even getting the DHCP address. Please clarify.

Also, did you add a tag for the Guest SSID on ZD WebUI, Configure :: WLANs :: ACCESS VLAN ?

I believe you are correct on the Cisco handling of VLANs.

And I did add the tag for VLAN 6 to the configuration of the guest WLAN under:
Configure::WLANS::(wlan name).

ACCESS VLAN :: VLAN ID :: 6

I can connect a client device, but it does not get a DHCP address. I have the helper addresses set up, the scope is built, but I don't even get to the captive portal login for GuessPass entry.

I have now made the problem worse.

I removed:
switchport trunk native vlan 25

from both the A.P. interface as well as the ZD interface.

I also changed the ACCESS VLAN for the ZD and the corporate WLAN from "1" to "25". While this allows me back in to the ZD, my WLAN is now exhibiting the same behavior as the guest WLAN....

Bryan,

This might end up taking a long time here so I would suggest opening a case with Ruckus TAC and I will take the ownership of this case as I know what's happening. We will need you to have a valid technical support contract on your ZD. Awaiting your response.
