Unleashed R500 and T610 firmware best practise

We want to add a  T610 to existing R500 access points running unleashed.

There are 5 x R500s currently on site, there are normally only 4 -6 users.

I notice the Latest unleashed firmware for the R500s is 200.7.10.202.118.

The new T610 can run 200.7.10.202.118  or upgrade to 200.8.10.3.278.

Is the best practise to run all units on the same firmware or to upgrade the T610 to 200.8.10.3.278?

Many Thanks

Hi Andrew,

In a single Unleashed network all APs need to run the same firmware.

Therefore if you want to run all your APs in a single Unleashed network you will need to run the older version of firmware that supports both AP model types.

Alternatively you can upgrade the R500 units to R510, which support the latest 200.8 version.

I hope that helps,
Darrel.

What is the latest Unleashed firmware I can run on a R500 AP?  I have a combination of R500 and R510 APs throughout the building and understand the limitation noted above?

Hi Eugene,

Unleashed 200.7 is the final version to support the R500 platform.  It also supports R510, so sounds like this is the ideal version for you.

HTH,
Darrel.

Thanks, just updated the APs to 200.7.10.202..127 and everything runs great.

The Unleasehed Admin/Upgrade tab suggests upgrading to 200.8.10.3.290 firmware version even though I have a mix of the R500 at EOL and the 510.   I will plan at staying on the 200.7 release.
