Traveling between locations without re-signing in to SSID

I have 9 locations and our users travel between them.  I currently have a ZD1100 controlling 19 APs across the 9 locations that are getting rather old.  Users are able to travel to any site without having to sign into each site.  If I setup unleased APs in each location with the same ssid and password, will users be able to go between locations with out signing in to each site?

If you replace your current setup with Unleashed APs at each site and configure them all with the same SSID and password, users can connect more easily across locations. However, Unleashed networks at different sites don’t share authentication sessions or roaming info like a centralized controller does. This means users will likely have to re-authenticate when they move between locations, even if the SSID and password are the same.     Explor Olhos de Agua

Yes, you can set up multiple APs across different locations using the same SSID and password, and users will often be able to roam between sites without signing in each time. However, seamless roaming depends on more than just the SSID—it also involves network authentication methods, AP configuration (like enabling fast roaming/802.11r if supported), and ensuring your backend controllers or DHCP settings are optimized.

If you’re managing multiple locations, it might be worth considering enterprise-grade solutions that handle centralized authentication to ensure smooth roaming for users. For example, some networks in nz-tourism  destinations have successfully implemented such setups to allow staff and visitors to move between multiple sites without repeated logins.
