Problems with 5ghz dead on the R720 after heavy usage

Have my R720 for a good 4 years now and no problems whatsoever.

But then, i bought a PICO4 VR HMD, that is Wifi6e and VERY hungry for bandwith. Using it on 5ghz AC with 160mhz wide channel, it was working just fine.

Then suddenly, the connection stalled and it´s 5ghz WLAN while it´s on and enable, simply don´t have any more power it.

It barelly managed to work at 200Mbps, while it was 1600Mbps just moments ago.

I´ve tried every single option avaliable, updated the R720 to the latest unleashed version put everything on auto or set the setting to no avail.

The POE injector is just fine too, providing 90w as always.

Do anyone have any ideas ? The HMD is fine, i´ve just tested it on another AP and it reached 2100Mbps in AX mode.

Thanks !

Hi Douglas,

Could you connect another AX client to R720 and check the performance?

Provide output of below commands.

  • get version
  • sysinfo
  • get power-mode
  • get txchainmask wifi1
  • get station wlan1 stats all (you may limit the output to impacted client MAC address).
  • get station wlan32 list all (you may check for which WLAN you need to run this command. first run "get wlanlist" and findout the correct WLAN interface against your SSID).

Is there a way to execute the commands on the web interface ?

Thanks for the help

@douglas_santos_

You can get these details from AP CLI only using an ssh tool like putty, teraterm etc.

Best Regards

  • get version

Ruckus R720 Multimedia Hotzone Wireless AP
    Version: 200.12.10.105.129
  • sysinfo

    No such command

  • get power-mode

PoE Configured Mode : bt5
Power Consumption Status : 802.3bt5 Switch/Injector
USB Status : Disabled
OK

  • get txchainmask wifi1

Tranmit Chainmask: 15
OK

  • get station wlan1 stats all (you may limit the output to impacted client MAC address).

I've seen the output and nothing unsual or of interest there.

  • get station wlan32 list all (you may check for which WLAN you need to run this command. first run "get wlanlist" and findout the correct WLAN interface against your SSID).

"OK"
