I have an unleashed network and have attempted to set up an IoT network for Josh.AI Edge remotes. When I use a $30 cheap access point, everything connects and works just fine with no issues, but the devices will not maintain a connection through the unleashed network. They successfully connect, get through the 4-way handshake, and successfully get an address through DHCP but then drop the connection seconds later and try again repeatedly.
Josh is a new product with a less-than-ideal network architecture. It uses (abuses?) broadcasts extensively yet does not support IGMP. 802.11k is also known to cause problems and must be turned off. I'm not deep into network administration - I know just enough to be truly dangerous - but, since it works just fine on the cheap AP with no traffic management, my best guess is that Ruckus is filtering some of the broadcasts and causing it to drop offline.
I create a separate IoT WLAN that is limited to 2.4GHz only and turned off literally everything I could turn off through the GUI. I do not see a setting for IGMP or any other type of broadcast filtering. Is there a way through the CLI to disable anything that might not be present in the cheap unmanaged AP within that WLAN only? It seems silly to have to run a second set of cheap APs just to support this one product, but that is my fallback plan if I cannot find a way to get these things running through my Unleashed infrastructure.
Thanks!
