I've installed 23 R510/R550 Accesspoints in an unleashed Network at customer site. The net is up and running.
The customer added four NAD BlueSound players to the LAN. Now we face the problem that the (latest) IOS App can't discover these players. Players and iOS Device are in the same VLAN.
I'm blamed having installed a bad WiFi network...
Please advise how to solve the problem. My guess is that the iOS BluOS App uses some special kind of IGMP/mDNS.
Funny fact: BlueSound App on an MAC discovers the Players....

Thanks for the detailed context — it helps a lot. You're absolutely right to suspect multicast discovery protocols like mDNS or SSDP/UPnP as the root cause here. iOS apps (like BluOS) often rely on these for device discovery, and Ruckus Unleashed networks sometimes require specific settings to handle multicast traffic properly, especially for iOS discovery.
