Wi-Fi 6E will require new AP hardware as a completely new radio (capable of operating in 6GHz) will be required.
My assumption is we'll initially see this is high-performance tri-radio APs with 2.4/5/6GHz functionality.
Whether we'll see a new generation of 2.4+6 and/or 5+6 GHz APs will probably depend on the type of client devices that adopt the new 6GHz technology.
