Wireless Mesh setup with r310 and t300

I am trying to see about a presales question about wrieless mesh.  I have setup 2 r310, and one t300 running unleashed.  I would like to take one of the r310 and have it be totally wireless.  I have all 3 setup and working while connected to the LAN.  When I unhook one of the r310, it will never connect up via wireless.  I even tried setting up the zero touch Pre-Approved Zero Touch Mesh.  What am I missing?

Like others have said any 3 series AP wont support mesh, the 5 series does and you can pick up R500's at good prices these days.
