Can't log into my MM2211 Metro Broadband Gateway ...

Hi,

The initial setup of the unit seemed to work fine (I used the wizard etc) but after changing my main router I never managed to get into the config screen anymore using the IP address listed on the bottom (192.168.30.1). There seem to be quite a lot of people on the forums with this issue :

http://forums-archive.ruckuswireless....

Resetting to factory settings doesn't seem to work (not after 8 seconds, neither after 3 minutes). I know because after powering up it still shows the name of the previous WIFI network I had running.

Regards,

It sounds like the unit is faulty. We haven't sold them for quite a while so our records will show it as "out of warranty". Some of our resellers did large stocking purchases when we end-of-life'd the model, so if you have a purchase receipt showing a recent (< 1 year) purchase you can get a replacement via RMA.

You might try connecting your PC straight to the ethernet and have your PC get it's IP address from the unit - that might allow you to re-gain administrative control (as per https://support.ruckuswireless.com/do... )

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried just about everything and kind of lost my trust in the solution. My invoice (from the 22nd of decmber) is attached. This is what I ordered :

If you say the product is out of date, what product would you advise to replace it ?

I'm just looking for a big access point to extend my WIFI range over the entire house (50m wide & thick walls) till the end of the garden (about 100m deep).

Regards,

Sorry I removed your last post out of privacy concerns. Your first step should be to contact your reseller as they might be able to get the unit operating correctly for you.

Failing that, you can open a case with us (and there attach your invoice 😉 for a replacement MM2211.

WRT getting a different device..again you should discuss with your reseller. From your description, I don't think the MM2211 would provide the coverage you're looking for (and in fact will likely be a challenge for any single device). Our ZF7982 is the most powerful single device we have, and is what I use myself. However multiple APs and/or a mesh network (which requires a controller) may be required in your case...your house is bigger than my entire lot and we play football in spaces the size of your garden 🙂

Well : The house indeed turned out a little big :)

Anyway : the device came with 6m of cable and a big antenna to put on the roof :

... so I assumed that would work :(

I'll check with the people that sold it to me and maybe it's indeed better to opt for a bunch of different access-points instead of just one.
