Tried resetting the ruckus 7150 and stuck still. Tried to reset with software and would not work.

Kindly share the details of the cable connections between the switch and your laptop for further review.
I would request you to please share the cable connection while performing software recovery. (Please see the below picture as reference)

After some trouble shooting I was able to get the ruckus out of bootloader and is now working. Should I update to the latest software version now or is it already by following those instructions

Glad to know that you were able to get out of the boot mode.
As you were able to access the command line, please enter the below commands in to CLI and share the output.
Note: Hit Enter to accept each command
enable
show version
show flash
Please share the output of the above commands or share the screenshots if stuck at any step or error (if any) and let me know if you have any queries in this regard.
