Ruckus R320 New Fiber Optic Network

SteveL

Yesterday Cox changed us over to its fiber optic network.  We are having issues.  Do we have to reset anything in regard to the Ruckus 320?

12 REPLIES 12

We went from Cox cable to Cox fiber optic. Not sure if this ruckus has to be linked to the new address.

Hi @SteveL

Thank you for your response and for providing the information.

Please follow the steps below to check if your previous Wi-Fi network (from before the fiber optic installation) becomes visible:

Disconnect: Unplug the Ethernet cables for both the RUCKUS Access Points and the ISP router from the RUCKUS switch ports.

Restart the ISP Router: Reboot your ISP router by unplugging it from the power outlet, waiting a few seconds, and then plugging it back in.

Reconnect: Plug the cables disconnected in Step 1 back into any 1 in-12 Switch ports.

Verify the Network: Check to see if your original Wi-Fi network is now visible.

Please let me know the outcome after completing these steps.

I appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.

We are uncomfortable doing all of this. We are going to wait and work with our internet technician. Right now our system is working although we don’t know why and don’t want to cause further complications.

Do any of the pictures/lights indicate any problems to you? We were expecting more of a software or data input. Do these systems automatically pick up the new network? We are uncomfortable doing this over email and do not want to cause further complications. Way too many connections on those boxes. Very disappointing that I can’t see what network it’s connected to.

Hi @SteveL

Thank you for your response, and I apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing.

- I would like to confirm that the status indicators on the RUCKUS Access Points and the RUCKUS ICX-7150-C12P Switch indicate that they are operating normally.

- Typically, even when the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or cabling has been changed, you should still be able to see the previous Wi-Fi network.

At this point, we need to proceed with the necessary troubleshooting steps. I am here to assist you with this process.

I guess what I’m asking is does the ruckus automatically pick up the new network? If I did proceed where would I see the network listed. Do I need to sign into the ruckus app?
