Advice on home office standalone AP (R310 or R510 ?)

Hello all,

I am looking to deploy one AP for a home office (5 to 8 clients), with no controller or anything (cannot justify the cost and benefits of a controller for 1 AP).

I was thinking of going for the R310, but I see that it is end of sales in Mach 2021. Should I go the R510 route? Or something else?

Will appreciate any advice.

Thx

Unleashed has a lot more features than standalone since it has a built-in controller. Also it gives you access to dfs channels when put in performance mode.  Standalone has no dfs channels.

I see, ty for the info

Our company replaced some R510 devices.

Now I want to use it at home for home office.

But it seems I need a premium account to download the standalone version firmware? I don't have a ZoneDirector, just a single R510, which states:

This AP is currently unable to provide wireless access.
To resolve, connect to a Ruckus Controller.

To function as a standalone AP, go to Ruckus Support, navigate to the specific AP and download

but, to download standalone firmware, you would need premium membership?

You just need to make a free account and download unleashed firmware. Make sure your reset your R510 AP and then flash it to the newest 200.9.x.x. Firmware.
