Recently, many customers have been asking us about OKTA authentication in wireless-lan.

We noticed Ruckus One adds SAML suthentication method on Captive Portal wlan.

How do we config a SAML authentication on Ruckus One with OKTA?

Hi Jeronimo,

Ruckus One supports Captive Portal Authentication with OKTA. Please find the below steps after selecting SAML Identity Provider (IdP) on WLAN:

• Under the WLAN> Onboarding section- Click Add under Select Identity Provider via SAML.
• Paste the Metadata URL from Okta.
• Leave other fields as default and click Add.
• Configure Walled Gardens and following entries:
• *.okta.com
• *.oktacdn.com
• Add guest portal service.
• Choose SAML Identity Provider (IdP) as the portal design.
• Click Add, then Next.
• Activate the WLAN in a venue.
• In RUCKUS One, go to Network Control → Policies and Profiles → Identity Provider → SAML.
• Find your IdP profile and download the SAML Metadata file.
• Open the file and locate the Profile ID (under entityID).
• Replace the original Tenant ID in Okta with this Profile ID.
• Save the application configuration in Okta.
