This guide will help Lennar Home users upgrade their RUCKUS R510 Unleashed Access Points (APs) to the latest recommended stable version to ensure smooth performance, improved connectivity, and compatibility with the RUCKUS Unleashed mobile application.
Your RUCKUS Access Points connect your devices to the internet and are an essential part of your Lennar Home network.
Just like smartphones and computers, these devices occasionally need firmware upgrades, small software updates that fix bugs, improve security, and add new features.
By keeping your APs on the recommended stable firmware, you can:
There are two ways to upgrade your RUCKUS R510 Access Points:
This is the simplest method. Your Access Point downloads and installs the update directly from RUCKUS servers.
Steps:
1. Connect your computer or mobile device to your RUCKUS Wi-Fi network.
2. Open a web browser and go to the Unleashed Web Interface:
Type https://unleashed.ruckuswireless.com or Master AP IP Address in the URL address bar.
3. Log in with your Admin Username and Password.
4. Navigate to: Admin & Services → Administration → Upgrade.
5. Select Online Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions. (Figure 1)

If the online upgrade doesn’t work or doesn’t offer the required version, you can manually install the firmware.
Steps:
1. Download the firmware file for version 200.15.6.212.27 from the official RUCKUS link: Download Firmware Patch (Figure 2)
2. Save the file to your computer.
3. Connect to your RUCKUS Wi-Fi and open the Unleashed Web Interface.
4. Log in, then go to: Admin & Services → Administration → Upgrade.
5. Select Local Upgrade. (Figure 3)
6. Upload the firmware file you downloaded.
7. Click Upgrade and wait for the process to complete.
(Your AP will restart — Wi-Fi will be temporarily unavailable during this time.)

The app became useless after an apple iPhone update, where the app was not compatible with the iPhone update. I updated the app once that became available and still could not login to the app. I downloaded the new app on my wife's phone and she was able to get into the app at that time. I then updated the switch and the AP's. Now to the present day, my wife is no longer able to access the app on her phone as well. I tried last night to log into the switch via my laptop and no dice on that as well. So if I can manage to find an external drive that works, I can put the drive into my computer put the switch update on that, plug that into the switch and it loads automatically? Because I cannot access the switch from my laptop evidentaly.
