HI,
i am connecting my pc to a edge switch vlan and pinging to the core switch ip then i m getting latency in pinging.
There is distribution switch in between core and edge switch.
please let me know the reasons and how to solve it.

Are you pinging any end devices connected to Core switch ?

no , i am connecting my laptop to a edge switch vlan , and pinging core switch ip address from my laptop.
core switches is directly connected to the distribution switch and from distribution the edge swwitches are connected.

Alright, Pinging the control plane on the switch can have some latency as the ICMP reply's are cpu generated which has lowest priority over all other cpu task such as mac learning , route calculation, snmp polling etc.. so this is expected but data plane traffic should be good.
