RUCKUS Community READ-ONLY on 31 January 2022 for Upgrade Migration

edit/update on 14 January 2022 to change title/date to "READ-ONLY week of 24 January 2022 for Upgrade Migration" and please see update in comments below.

RUCKUS Networks will begin migration of our existing community to a new, upgraded platform starting on Wednesday, 5 January 2022:

  • The new community platform will be hosted at the URL of https://community.ruckuswireless.com and will be integrated within the RUCKUS Support Portal’s single-sign-on process.  Please update your bookmarks accordingly.  (The new URL will not be live until 5 January 2022).
  • The new community content categories and topics will be identical to the old forums, leveraging the reorganization work done in the summer of 2021 to simplify the community structure.
  • New Q&A posts can be posted at https://community.ruckuswireless.com as soon as the new platform goes live. 

 

All existing content at https://forums.ruckuswireless.com will become READ-ONLY on 5 January 2022, and will remain accessible in a READ-ONLY format through 4 February 2022: 

  • READ-ONLY means that you will not be able to create new discussion topics or to update existing conversations in the community beginning on 5 January 2022.  This includes internal RUCKUS employees as well as external customers and partners.  Full search of the existing content will remain available.
  • All existing forums content---Q&A posts as well as user accounts, user avatars, images, etc.---will be migrated from the old forum to the new community.

Some aspects of the UI/UX presentation and design in the new platform are still being worked, and will finalize over the next month, so please be patient as we work “under construction” and check back regularly for new updates and changes.  

If you have questions about the new community or would like to offer feedback on the new platform after its launch, please post below.

UPDATE #1 on 8 January 2022:  Obviously we have not put the Forums into a READ-ONLY state yet, due to some production deployment delays. 

The timeline as it stands today is:

  • New community platform to launch early next week (probably on Tuesday, 11 January 2022) at https://community.ruckuswireless.com/
  • Existing content data migration from the old Forums to be migrated into the new community later the following week (probably around Thursday, 20 January 2022)

In the meanwhile, the existing forums will remain open and available.  We will definitely move it to a READ-ONLY state prior to doing the final content migration, and I'll provide an updated READ-ONLY timeline later next week once we have the new community launched in production.

UPDATE #2 on 14 January 2022:  We have obviously not put the Forums into READ-ONLY mode yet, and that is likely to remain the status-quo throughout next week.

Toward the middle of next week, we should be in a good position to draw our line in the sand for the final data migration to occur during the week of 24 January, and will give you as much advance notice as possible about that change.

Our updated timeline as of today is:

  • New community platform to launch early next week (probably on Tuesday, 18 January 2022) at https://community.ruckuswireless.com/
  • Existing content data migration from the old Forums to be migrated into the new community later the following week (probably around Thursday, 27 January 2022) but may be earlier depending on our feedback from the migration engineers

In the meanwhile, the existing forums will remain open and available.

Update #3 on 21 January 2022:  Forums will go into READ-ONLY mode on 28 January 2022, and new community should be live and accessible early next week (24-25 January 2022).

Update #4 on 28 January 2022:  I have not placed the community into READ-ONLY status yet, but I have posted all of the transitional links to help guide you from the existing Forums topics to the new Community boards. 


The new Community boards are still inaccessible since we're fixing an issue with SSO registration, but I expect that to be resolved soon.  Once that is resolved, I will place the current Forums into READ-ONLY mode.
