Installing RUCKUS IoT Controller on Hyper-V

I downloaded the RUCKUS IoT 2.4.0.0 (GA) vRIoT Server Software Release (OVA) and converted the VMDK file to VHD format using the StarWind V2V Converter tool.

However, after the conversion, I noticed that the VHD file size increased to 100GB, while the original VMDK file size was only 4GB.

Could you please confirm whether this size increase is normal or if the file needs to be reconverted?vhd.pngvmdk.png

Hi Elanoor,

Yes, this is expected behavior. Starting from the vRIoT 2.3.0.0 GA release, the virtual machine hosting the RUCKUS IoT Controller must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 4 vCPUs
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 100 GB fixed HDD

While the vCPU and RAM requirements remain the same, the minimum disk space has increased from 20 GB to 100 GB.
