I have a Ruckus R650 with the latest unleashed firmware. I live in an apartment complex and while the walls seem good enough to block sounds from my neighbors, their home xfinity routers are much stronger than my Ruckus R650 unless it is within a few feet of the device I'm connecting to.
If I connect to my neighbors wifi I get better transfer speeds but if I connect wired on either I get the same speed.
I have a very good 60 watt POE injector - tested 2 different models.
Is this the nature of POE routers or is there something I can do.
It isn't a DNS issue - i've tried both the ISP and 8.8.8.8
I've changed out the cat 6A cables - no improvement.
It currently has the default 2.4Ghz and 5ghz settings.
The devices I connect to support 802.11ac and wifi 6 - i've set up different networks - ones that do 2.4 only as well as 5GHz and 6Ghz only.
I've tested with an ipad, 2 laptops and 2 rokus (2024 Ultra).
I have NOT adjusted transmit strength, specific channels or other items. I'd say it could be channel interference but it doesn't explain why all my neighbors aren't interfering with each other as they transmit powerful and fast connections.
