Can I configure time-based access policies in Ruckus Zoneflex R500 Unleashed Access Points?

Good afternoon,

Let's say I have six Ruckus ZoneFlex R500 Unleashed Access Points. I want to configure 2 wireless network names (SSIDs) in each Access Point. One SSID is for students, and the other SSID is for teachers.

I also want to configure time-based access policies for the SSIDs. Students can only access the Wi-Fi from 9 AM to 6 PM every day while teachers can access the Wi-Fi 24x7 everyday.

Can I do this with-out a wireless controller like the Ruckus Zone Director 1200?????

If I can do without a wireless controller like the Zone Director, please advise how I can implement time-based access policies on the Access Point. Implement a Master Access-Point and Standby-Master Access Point? Please point me to the relevant deployment scenarios and configuration guides.

Thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply Igor.

If I configure the time based access policy in the Master AP, how can I ensure that the other 5 Unleashed APs inherit the same settings from the Master AP?

You can configure the time based access policy only for WLAN not for AP. (in controller based WLAN is the same).
But in unleashed network you cannot configure that some AP have different WLAN. You have only one WLAN Group and all unleashed AP have the same WLAN-pool. You are able to switch on/off a 2,4 or 5G radio of particular AP, but cannot choose different WLAN.

So if you configure the time based access policy for WLAN all AP have the same settings.

Since others have already answered "time based access for a WLAN" part of the question I would like to address

" Implement a Master Access-Point and Standby-Master Access Point? Please point me to the relevant deployment scenarios and configuration guides."

Beauty of Unleashed is that it has built-in resiliency. In other words, if you have more than one Ethernet connected Access Point in your network then if current Master AP become inaccessible another Ethernet connected AP will automatically become a new Master AP. No additional configuration needed.
