channefly and 7731 in the works?

Are there any plans to add ChannelFly functionality to the 7731 bridges? This really seems like it would be the perfect use of this technology. Since both endpoints are known and controlled and we're more concerned than ever about real-world throughput available on each channel, having the bridge use ChannelFly to make decisions about channel usage would be a real standout feature for these bridges.

7731 is code frozen.

But you do have channel measurement. Run that.

Is there a replacement bridge in the works then? Yes, we do run channel optimization and it works well to find a good channel, but in one particular install we're seeing that that the perfect channel one hour ends up with terrible interference occasionally and just kills the bridge performance.

Wireless bridging is kind of an all or none thing... either it works great 99.9% of the time or people don't want it, so if the unit can't dynamically deal with issues, customers end up very unhappy. Any strategies for this?

Using the 24dBi or even higher gain antenna with small side lobes could probably help. It will limit the interference if not directly in the main lobe. Have you tried it?

To the original question, after Channel Optimization gives the best bi-directional
throughput channel choice, the link channel remains static. Changing a Root
Bridge channel, will cause drops/packet loss for traffic across the bridge links,
is why the 7731 does not change channels (with Channelfly or Background scan).

In extremely challenging environments, you may need to run Chano from time to
time if the throughput appears to be less than it was.
