Hi there,

I just setup my Zoneflex 7982 and noticed some repeating errors in the log file.

5ghz Radio:
Wireless mode: 5ghz
Channel: SmartSelect
Channel Width: 40mhz
Country Code: New Zealand

Running software version: 9.6.0.0.267

In the log file:

Sep 10 09:51:03 RuckusAP daemon.err channel-wifi1: unable to set wlan8 channel to 165

I rebooted the AP, prior to the reboot it was doing it for channel 116, after the reboot its doing it for channel 165.

Any insight would be appreciated

Cheers,
James

I went ahead and made the switch to 20Mhz channels on both AP's. (Note that it was already using 20Mhz on the 2.4G radio so only had to switch the 5G). Since then the UNBLOCKED entries have gone away. Here is the last ten minutes of log activity. It still seems like there is a lot of unwanted activity but perhaps you can make sense of it. The "unable to find active wlan device" concerns me the most. Also, no matter what time server I use, the time stamps are about 7 hours off.

OK, I've noticed this too. Just to recap.

The workaround is to switch to 20MHz on 5GHz?
Does this apply to all or some country codes?
If I go back to 9.5 FW, will it work?
Is it on standalone APs or ZD controlled, or doesn't matter?

How can I blacklist 165 on standalone AP?

If you don't want to switch to 20mhz then you can just blacklist the offending channels, for me there was about 3 of them

Just ssh into your AP and run:
set blacklist wifi1 xxx -1

Where xxx = channel number

My AP is standalone, not sure it matters

James, I was doing exactly that, but the issue just kept surfacing on different channels that I had to blacklist, one by one. I finally gave up and used 20 Mhz bandwidth instead...

Merry Xmas all,

Thought I'd let you know that Ruckus have fixed the bug in releases 9.6.2.0.13 and 9.7.0.0.220 which are available for download here https://support.ruckuswireless.com/so...

I'm using 9.7.0.0.220 as I'm only using a standalone 7982

Cheers,
James
