Ruckus 7372 not turning on with properly rated AC adapter?

I have a Ruckus 7372. Can't seem to get it to turn on using any AC adapters I have. The label on the back says 12V-1A... Well, 12V-1A doesn't work, 12V-1.6A doesn't work... does it need something beefier? I have a 12V-20A bench supply that it does work with. Just confused since the label on it says 1A and it definitely seems to need more.

Tech specs says
• DC Input: 12 VDC 1.0A • Power over Ethernet 802.3 af

which would imply the it'll draw a maximum of 15.4W
Have you a POE switch handy by any chance?

Adaptor (or 2) problem? Or have you already eliminated that?

I don't have a PoE switch which is why I was using the adapter. Both the 1A and 1.6A AC adapters I have work fine for other things. Putting an ammeter in line with the AP I don't see anything over 1A when this thing is starting to when the radios turn no, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Maybe it's a short surge initially that I'm not seeing.

Possibly irrelevent/stupid but the poles of the adaptors are reversed by any chance?

Checked it, we're good there on the polarity.
