One of SSID shows No Internet Connection on specific AP area

We have 2x main SSID as below:

[Ruckus] A-WiFi >> All good

[Ruckus] A-Guest >> Faced No Internet Issue on specific AP area

We have 2x R610 AP in that S&M department:
Hostname: RuckusAP-23
Hostname: RuckusAP-44

FYI, we are using Ruckus Unleashed The issue details as below:
- In our S&M Department, we have 2x Ruckus R610 AP that broadcast SSID "[Ruckus] A-WiFi" & "[Ruckus] A-Guest"
- The [Ruckus] A-WiFi has no issue on Internet connection
- But the [Ruckus] A-Guest has "No Internet, Connected" issue on that department only
- We have checked the uplink switch port configuration, seems same with other R610 APs on other departments
- We have performed "ipconfig /flushdns", "ipconfig /release" & "ipconfig /renew" to force reconnect to [Ruckus] A-Guest
- After a few moments, the Internet connection seems got on that SSID but sometimes the same "No Internet" prompt appeared again
- We have tried fine tuning the channeling manually between RuckusAP-23 & RuckusAP-44 to prevent interference
- We also disable 5Ghz WiFi on RuckusAP-23 because both AP's location quite close between each other around 5-7 meters
- After monitoring for a few days, seems the issue still happen
- We are sure that the issue not from Guest VLAN because other department not faced that issue

Please advice on this

Hi Aimannfaizz,

Please review the following points to help isolate the issue:

  • Check if there is a firewall in the network that may be restricting traffic. If so, try switching to a VLAN without firewall restrictions and confirm whether this resolves the problem.

  • Verify if the SSID has any firewall settings applied. If it does, disable them and test again.

  • If client isolation is enabled on the SSID, disable it and observe the results.

If the issue persists after these checks, please proceed to create a support ticket for further investigation: https://support.ruckuswireless.com/cases/new

Hi Kiran,

Thank you for the suggestions.

We’ve confirmed that there is no firewall block on the Guest VLAN, since the same [Ruckus] A-Guest SSID works fine in other departments without any issues. The problem only occurs in the S&M Department where the two R610 APs (RuckusAP-23 and RuckusAP-44) are deployed.

  • The [Ruckus] A-WiFi SSID in the same department works without any issues.

  • We’ve verified the switch uplink ports and they are configured the same as other locations.

  • We’ve already tried DNS flush/release/renew, channel tuning, and even disabling 5GHz on one AP, but the issue persists.

Could you advise on any AP-level or Unleashed configuration checks we should focus on next?

Thanks,
Aiman

Hi Aimannfaizz,

The description "- After a few moments, the Internet connection seems got on that SSID but sometimes the same "No Internet" prompt appeared again" depicts that this is more then a config issue and would need TSE help. I would suggest and recommend to reach out to us via https://support.ruckuswireless.com/contact-us open a support case and an expert technical engineer would guide to resolve this issue.

Best Regards

Do the clients get connected, but no internet? Are they getting a valid IP address?
