Can't mesh with Zoneflex 2741

I have a ZoneDirector 1100, 4 Zoneflex 7363 and one ZoneFlex 2741. 2 Zoneflex 7363 are Root AP as is the ZF 2741. I am trying to mesh one ZF7363 to the ZF2741 but it does not see it (even from a few meters).

I have followed the same guidelines to mesh a ZF7363 to another 7363 (plug it to the network, let it configure then replug it without network).

Do you know if I can mesh a SF 7363 to a ZF2741 or is it not possible ?

Thanks

Gilles

There's slightly more to it- it's the band they use.  any 2.4GHz only AP uses 2.4 for mesh, where dual-band uses the 5GHz.  If you had a different 2.4-only AP like a 2942, or a 7343, that would work as a root.

It's of little help in this scenario, but may help others who stumble across this.

That changes a lot.

That this mean that I can use my 2741 as a root AP and a 7343/2942 as a mesh AP ? I need to bridge to put a couple of LAN cameras at the other end of the mesh ?

I still have 7363 root APs and also 7363 mesh APs on the same Zonedirector. Will that not conflict ?

The 2741 should work as a root for those mesh APs.  We have a client using 2.4GHz mesh and dual-band APs on the same ZD, so that shouldn't be an issue.  It just means that you'll have to place the APs accordingly.

Thanks. I will source a 2942 or a 7343 and try it out
