After a software upgrade to version 9.8.2.0 build 24 the first 10-15 minutes all R700 dual band AP's on the 5 Ghz band select channel 100

After a software upgrade to version 9.8.2.0 build 24 the first 10-15 minutes all R700 dual band AP's on the 5 Ghz band select channel 100 channelfly enabled,
2.4 Ghz band are spread ok (channel 1,3,6,11 for example) from the beginning.

So the first 15 minutes after the upgrade the throughput of the WIFI network is unstable, for  all the stations which connect to the 5 Ghz band.

After the 15 minutes channelfly will start changing automatically the channels.

Is there an setting on the Zonedirector, to change this behavior for the 5 Ghz band, that after an upgrade the Zonedirector choose an unique channel instead of all AP's on channel 100.

Btw, Ruckus didn't choose one specific channel, that was the beginning channel, and because there is no background scanning the APs never changed.

Background scanning, and mesh, spectrum analysis, etc for R700 and all other 802.11ac APs are all enabled in 9.10 release code.

Michael Brado thank you for the update.
We noticed that 3 of our 30 R700 AP's the memory usage increases with 8% extra memory usage per week, since we upgrade to version 9.8.2.0.24 .
We create a case for that 00270832.
If this was the NTP memory leak i suppose that all the AP's have the same behaviour and not only 3 of the 30 AP's.
Is there an CLI command on the AP to see which unix process caused the high memory usage.

Hi Arthur,

The issue only affects 9.8.2, and isn't present in 9.9+.  I can't find a command
from the AP CLI but if you review the "TOPs" section under the AP support info
file, there should not be more than one or two instances of:

"/usr/sbin/timer start"

seen.  To workaround, disable NTP on the ZD Configure/System page and reboot
your APs.

This example has only the one single instance:

 2357  1571 root     S <   7932   6%   0% /usr/sbin/apmgr -r start

Michael Brado we only have one timer process running on the 3 AP's, so probably this is not the NTP memory leak.

Herewith the overview of the process which has 1% or more memory usage.

The memory usage is now ~ 65%.

What is the memory usage rate before the service is impacting for the connected stations ?
