AP used for ethernet to PC?

Can I use the 2nd port on one of my r510 APs to hardwire my PC via ethernet cable? The switch/modem is VERY far from my setup, I'd rather not run a huge cable through my whole home. I don't want to plug anything into the AP and potentially screw something up. If I can do it, is there anything I need to configure beforehand?
