AP no longer connect to ZD1200 after firmware upgrade from 10.5.1.0.276 to 10.5.1.0.279

Hello, after the firmware upgrade and ZD1200 rebooted, i saw some APs show firmware upgrade and some disconected like a normal upgrade process.

but after 20 minutes the situation did not evolve and all the APs remained disconnected.

I tried to restart an AP manually but it didn't help.

I have three types of APs but they are all supported by the latest firmware update.

I had no choice but to revert to the previous firmware version and all APs reconnected without making any configuration changes in fact I was able to ping all APs from the controller even though they were not connecting.

I have a support license valid until June 2025.

Has anyone encountered the same problem?

But I don't understand: Ruckus doesn't do anything?
Has anyone contacted technical support?

I made a post earlier asking if Ruckus tech support was doing anything but it was deleted.
I didn't feel like I offended anyone!

Hello,

Currently, the ball is in your court.

Vignesh Ramasam has provided you with the following response:

«You can execute the following commands to confirm the AP is getting firmware: This is to check if the AP to ZD connectivity is active.

  1. get version
  2. get director

Also, you can try to perform an upgrade again, and if the issue persists, you can open a support case».

These commands executed in an SSH session will help determine the current version of the access point's software and whether the AP still considers your ZoneDirector as its controller.

If you are unable to resolve the issue, it is suggested to open a ticket with support, as you mentioned you have an active service contract until June.

You have been offered two ways to solve the problem: either independently or by contacting support (this forum is not an official support service). For productive interaction with support, you may need to provide SSH access to your infrastructure (possibly through remote access via your computer). It seems better to contact your local Ruckus partner (perhaps the one who implemented your wireless infrastructure). In any case, you need to decide how to proceed.

If you try to solve the issue independently, it is advisable to have the controller software versions mentioned in your thread. Vignesh Ramasam provides links to the software that may help resolve the issue:

«You can use the following links for all three versions:

Regards, Vignesh».

Also, pay attention to this message from Kalfhw:

«Recently:

279 > NO APs found (Downgrade to)

276 > Still No APs found (Downgrade to)

265 > Cluster (2x ZD1200) works as before».

So it is quite possible that version 10.5.1.0.265 will help you as well.

I hope your APs have not "learned bad habits" from 10.5.1.0.279 and can independently switch to 10.5.1.0.265 (for example), without needing to reset them to factory state and/or solo firmware. So try version 10.5.1.0.265 – either you will solve your problem, or the situation is more complicated, and you will need to seek help.

If I were closer to you, I would gladly help.

In any case, I wish you success and all the best!
