802.11ax in industry 4.0

Hi all !
Can anybody tell me about some Ruckus products?
We build some manufacturing  4.0  with wireless network and now we search wireless vendors and choice between two big players)
1)why Ruckus dont have a outdoor (industrial) AP with wifi 6 ? its temp problem and this AP will can made in future?
2)why WiFi 6 AP dont have externall antenna? If we have a problem with mounting AP , we can use externall antennas , but ruckus dont have it (

Hi Ivan,

Thank you for your questions.  The IEEE802.11ax standard was ratified late in 2019 and Ruckus were the first vendor with a certified Wi-Fi 6 Access Point (Ruckus R750), so we are at the front of the line with the latest and greatest Wi-Fi products!

1) Outdoor APs are more complex and costly to design and produce as well as having lesser market demand, so these tend to be released after the equivalent indoor AP models. Ruckus will be releasing a Wi-Fi 6 certified outdoor-grade access point in 2020. We don't have an exact date as yet but please keep an eye on our website for details: https://www.ruckuswireless.com/products/access-points

2) Ruckus APs have a built in unique active antenna array, called BeamFlex+, which facilitates multiple technologies and benefits, especially in challenging RF environments.  If standard antennas are fitted to a Ruckus AP then the benefits of BeamFlex+ will be lost.  More details here:

2)I try understand : WiFi 6 =  only "Smart Antenna" and nothing else , or we can use external antenna (patch expl AT-1212-DP) with 802.11ax AP  and its just work worst?

Hi Ivan,

All Ruckus APs have our Patented BeamFlex+ built in.  Currently the only AP that can have external antennas fitted is the Wi-Fi 5 E510.

If you connect an external antenna to a Ruckus AP it will operate more like a standard-performance AP from one of our competitors. So you will still get good performance and all the great Ruckus software enhancements, just not best-in-class RF performance like you would with BeamFlex+.

However, of course, any Wi-Fi performance benefits always depend on the type of client, the deployment and the environment.

Rather than use a AT-1212-DP 120-degree patch antenna, I would recommend looking at the Ruckus T310s Wi-Fi 5 AP or if you must have Wi-Fi 6 then you will need to wait and see whether we will release a sector/external antenna Wi-Fi 6 external-grade AP later in 2020.

Ruckus have a solution in WiFi 6 architecture for location\position service with centimeter accuracy?
Like BLE(or virtual ble) or something else? It planing use to robots location (maximum accuracy and low lattency).
