I have a 2910, 2610 and 5406 switch that I tried with all of these and still have the same issue.

I have not mounted in the ceiling as yet due to this issue so I just have them where I can access AC power until I can figure if it's a switch firmware issue or issue with the AP's.

I am not using a injector just a standard AC adapter that I found that fits.

If you have HP switches that these devices work on can you share what firware you are using on both switches and AP's please?

Please go ahead and open a support case so that we can get to the bottom of the underlying issue. You shouldn't settle for a workaround as a power-failure would put you back in a power-down situation.

I'm experiencing the same issue with a 5412zl series switch. Tried a PoE injector as a work around to eliminate switch firmware issues and still no joy.

All,

Just an update, after leaving the APs connected to the switch, it finally powers them up after 4 minutes. Not sure how long you have attempted to leave them on there. Some 7982's power right up, and some don't. Grabbing serial information of the ones that took 4 minutes.
